Our Queens of Samba
Nossas Rainhas
Bailador is a labour of love and a place of gratitude and acknowledgment. Brazilian Samba is an important traditional dance to the Afro-Brazilian diaspora and at Bailador we work hard to honour that tradition.
We train with Queens of Samba from Rio de Janeiro to best represent Brazilian Samba in Toronto. Our style of dancing as well as our custom-made costumes are directly from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
We are grateful to our mentors and are continuously learning from them, in more ways than just samba.

Thai Rodrigues
Thaiana Rodrigues is the people’s princess. She’s a beloved sambista from Rio de Janeiro. She won Rainha do Carnaval in 2022, is the Musa for @cordaodabolapretaofficial and a master of Samba no Pé. Her extensive knowledge of the histories of Samba, as well as many other Brazil styles of dancing are truly impressive and contribute to her unique style of dancing. She is an activist and uses her platform to promote black rights in the samba community.

Luara Bombom
Luara is a THE queen of samba. Her phenomenal dance skills are known internationally as she continues to make a name for herself. She is the 1st princess of Carnival in Rio 2022, Queen of GRESMT 2024, Queen of Sweden Carnival 2024 and a master of Samba no Pé. She has grown into one of the biggest names in Samba at this time.

Luana Bandeira
Luana is an icon in the samba community, her career spanning over a decade in the industry. She is a Musa for the 2024 Champions of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival— Viradouro. She specializes in samba as well as Afro-Brazilian Folklore and Capoeira. She brings with her an extensive knowledge of samba as well as experience performing on TV, at an international level and across Brazil.

GEORGETTE BOND
Georgette is an inspiration to all sambistas, especially those who weren't born into the culture of Samba. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Georgette has gone from self-taught to a beloved and respected passista. She's the MUSA for Caçulinha da Baixada, a passista for Tuiuti and the director of Unidos Atlanta & AxebrasilATL.
